Since Twelve25 opened in May 2007 there have been heaps of programs and bookings made at the centre with over 150 people coming through a day on some days.

Every year we have a lot of opportunities where people can find out more about the centre. For example, in the last few years Twelve25 has had an Open Day and some activities there included a rock climbing wall, BBQ, stalls, cultural music and more!

Twelve25 also joins in with the Living Loud Festival, supports the Fringe Festival with the Youth Theatre Group Performances and there's also a skate park event at Bagster Road that has been popular. This year it was called “I Eat Concrete for Breakfast.' Nice!

For all you Music fans, you may have been to the Ascension events, the gig running from about 6-11pm in the hall with young bands. There have been 5 concerts so far and we're looking to keep these going in the future.

City of Salisbury staff members are and Rick Henke (Centre Manager), Kate Walker (Youth Services Officer), Julie Brett (Project Officer) and Paula Edwards (Administration Officer). You'll also regularly see students on professional placement, like from TAFE and schools, and other volunteers. There's a pretty friendly atmosphere here at the Centre.

TWELVE25 aims to help out, support and encourage young people aged 12 years to 25 years. The focus of the centre is the four key goals and opportunities:

1. Delivery of development programs that enhance social interaction

2. Education

3. Employment

4. Enterprise

Programs at Twelve25

At Twelve25 the Australian Refugee Association Homework Help Club is available to provide help to new arrivals. This works on Tuesdays 4pm until 6pm and is free and includes a ride home. Call Natalie on 8354 2951 to book your place.

Another service is the new Case Management Youth Support Service which provides individual one-on-one personal support. This could include working with Centrelink, legal issues, personal problems, drug and alcohol issues, housing and other problem solving. Appointments are available Monday and Tuesday afternoons between 3pm and 5pm, or by appointment outside these hours.

Volunteering at Twelve25

Would you like to be a volunteer at Twelve25? What's in it for me? Give us a call you will be surprised; eg. free computer courses, experience in an office environment and new challenges every day.

Recently some of our young members were asked what they liked about TWELVE25. “Spending time with my mates and using the net,” from Monday to Friday and “The staff and the vending machine is a bonus!” were just some of the responses given.
